Speechless

Again a BSF personnel was killed and ...
So what ? Many soldiers die ... what is the big deal ?
and his body mutilated !
My god !!!!!!! when ? where ? how ?
On Bangladesh borders... For the first time in world history that a border guard officer was treacherously kidnapped and killed by his counterparts during a flag meeting.
That is cruel !! It is just unbelievable and against international norms and ethics.
Yes, the incident revives memories of the slaughter of 16 jawans of the BSF by the BDR on April 18, 2001. On that occasion, Bangladeshi civilians had trapped the BSF jawans into crossing the India-Bangladesh border in Meghalaya. BDR personnel then killed the jawans in cold blood.
I am speechless....
Our government is in the same state....

Oye Bubbly...

What a nice and catchy tune...

Shankar-Ehsan-Loy have surely created one more striking song.
With Shahrukh doing his typical act, I am sure till now this tune must have found its way on people's lips.

Oh, I just started humming it again.

Excuse me for a moment, Mr. Cricket

Sania Mirza and Narain Kartikeyan. Two young bloods. One in teens and one in twenties. One is shaking up Indian tennis world and one is shaking up Indian F1 world.

In the country where the popularity for non-cricket sports are next to non-existent, these new sporting heroes are ready to take on the cricket gods.

Will they be able to change this country's passion from 'cricket only' to 'cricket also'. ?

Will they be able to give other sports a breathing space in this country ?

What P.T. Usha, Baichung bhutia and Dhanraj Pillay failed to do, will these two Indians achieve that ?

Time will tell us.

News round up...

Union budget presented yesterday by FM was a repetition of his dream budget of 94. With a stress to agro and health development, this pro-poor budget will definitely take the country ahead on growth path.
This budget dramatically restructures the tax-slabs and thus reducing the total taxable income. For middle class people, this is a boon.

On world map, pro-syrian oppressive lebanon government resigned to give a clear way for the May elections. Saudi arabia is holding municipal elections and Egypt recently announced to hold presidential elections. Seems like Mr. Bush's drive for democracy is paying up, though things might just be coincidental.

One of the best things that have happened is the setback to Mr. Lalu prasad yadav's RJD in recent Bihar polls. Though it remains to be seen whether he will be able to form the government, i think and hope he can not do it.

Following the spirit and not the words

In any religion, it is very difficult to follow words from a religious book. Only saints can follow such a path. For ordinary men, it is better if they try to folllow the spirit of the saying and not the literal words.

What is happening in islam, if I am correct, is -

1. First ordinary people try to follow the literal words, they preach/spread the teachings of islam in a litreal way.
2. They fail to follow because of various following reasons -
* The words are meant to 'lead an ideal religious life' and has very hard, difficult, restrictive laws.
* The words are said in a context and it is not proper to apply the words in every case.
4. Due to this, the islamic people seem like 'hypocritic' to themselves because they fail to follow what they preach.

Any religious book is meant for leading an ideal religious life and it is not possible for the ordinary people to follow all the things that are said in the religious laws. Ordinary people need to follow the spirit of the religion.

Ayodhya - There and back again ?

This is regarding the recent attack on the 'Ayodhya' shrine. The attack brought the same old issues back on the table (which until yesterday were on the back burner). Here I have some honest advice for two entities - one which carried out the attack (whoever is that, I do _not_ care) and other is our second biggest national party.

Dear attackers, everyone knows why you carried out the attacks. But you are forgetting something, this is not 1990 (or even 2002), where one isolated incidence would create an upheaval in the country. Dear 'our national party', this is not the 1990 (or even 2002), where you could seize such an opportunity to advance your vote prospects.

Welcome to new India. This India does not care about some eccentric persons doing some nasty things. This India does not care about some religious zealots taking every opportunity for their own selves. This India cares about her own people. This India cares about feeding her poor children enough so that they will not die. This India cares about trying to take our impoverished brethren and sisters out into a new and brighter world. We are busy and do not have time for you.

Dear 'both the entities', The manner in which we, the 1 billion people, nearly 1/6th of humanity, absolutely neglected your stupid, ridiculous and laughable attempts to disturb the harmony and advance your vote prospects (respectively and in that order of time) is enough indication for you to take some other job. May be we can do something for you.
